So L, the best detective in the Death Note universe. Now here's the thing, a lot of people seem to believe L is a better detective than Batman is. They'll say things like how they don't think Batman could deduce Kira's identity, or how L solves crimes with like an instinct.
If you think Batman has not solved, insane crimes, with only a fraction of the information available, you've probably never read a comic. I'm not trying to offend anyone, but in the DC Comics, Batman has earned his title. He's literally solved crimes that even other great detectives in DC had thought impossible. Also Batman has taken on multiple supernatural/super powered, cases.
Now the argument against L. I like L, okay. I do. The problem I have is I think people forget that he actually does explain his reasoning. Such as finding Light.
1. L noticed that a low, criminal who was only known in a small area of the Kanto region had died of a heart attack, despite being a relatively healthy, man.
2. He guesses Kira was in the Kanto region based on that, and Light was dumb enough to take the bait.
3. The time of the killings matched up with someone who was probably a student.
4. Light tried to change the time of the killings, but it was too late, because L knew it was too much of a coincidence. Though this is something Light counted on.
Obviously there's more than that, but L actually does explain a lot of his thoughts, and how he arrived at his conclusions. Most of the time his conclusions seem to go along the lines of; "Kira's trying to throw me off, but I'm not going to fall for it." Light actually makes a lot of stupid mistakes in the series, that for some reason L, and later Near, are like the only ones to pick up on.
I really want to stress I don't dislike L. I really do like him. I love Death Note.
