All right, my question for you all: what makes or breaks an original character's character sheet? It's also called a character skeleton, information sheet, and more things I'm sure. It's what you fill out and send to your partner with all the information before a roleplay.
I personally think that I go overboard with character sheets -- particularly when it comes to my character's history. I can very easily type into the thousands for background information. In things that I roleplay like The Walking Dead where there are multiple seasons that are so different from each other; when there isn't a lot, I'll type out the usual summary but when there's a lot that my character goes through I will type it as if it were a story. That's where my worries lie. I worry a lot that my character information is too long and my partner won't want to read all of it and will get scared off.
What puts me off in regards to character information, when it's under detailed it puts me off because I take it as they aren't able to type a lot for their own character so they probably won't type a lot for the roleplay. I know this isn't always true! I just can't help it.
I want to know what makes or breaks one for the rest of you guys. I'm not asking if it is the thing that turns a yes into a no for roleplaying with the person, I just want to know what makes you less likely to actually read the person's character information and what you guys think makes for an interesting OC and what doesn't.
