I'm curious of how people in real life would react. Let's say you have a significant other be it through marriage, or someone you're planning to marry.
Well your family whether it's one of them, or all of them pull them aside to let the love of your life know about the incredible brutality they will visit upon them if they ever make you feel bad.
Your family has;
Depending on your view disrespected your choice as a person. This person has probably given them no reason to assume they'd ever hurt you.
They have created an antagonistic atmosphere, possibly for years to come.
Such threats might be taken very seriously in a court room setting.
Family reunions are going to of course be uncomfortable.
So let's say some time passes, and you find out. Your S.O. finally tells you; "I don't like visiting your family because the day before we got engaged/married you're brother told me how badly he'd kick the shit out of me if I wasn't perfect all the time around you."
Would you confront the family member? Would you tell them to apologize?
