Night seemed to come and go within the blink of an eye. It seemed that way for the young farmer who swore he had only laid his head down to sleep seconds ago. But, there was no denying morning’s arrival which would greet Jack in the form of sunlight. The rays of light rained down on the unsuspecting male and would rouse him from his once deep sleep. Slowly, he would open his eyes which were still heavy with sleep before pulling himself up and into a sitting position. His clock may have read 6:00 AM which was the average time for him to wake and begin his work around the farm but already it was bright. One, thing about summer was that the sun rose earlier than other seasons. But, one could suppose that was a good thing because more daylight meant that there was more time to get things done. That was what he thought but there would be plenty of time to think when he was up and on his feet. He’d spent more than enough time dawdling in bed. Yawning, he climbed from his bed and onto his feet and began to move about the place. He noticed that the constant back and forth seemed to wake his once sleep worn body. He would shower and then change into his usual work clothes before heading into the kitchen to help himself to some breakfast. As he prepared his meal he would steal an occasional glance at the television in order to see what today weather has entailed. The weather was something he always had to stay on top of because it determined how he cared for his crops that day and if his animals would be allowed outdoors to graze or not.
He seemed to strike luck in regards to the forecast which was said to be sunny all day. As he finished off his food a thought came across his mind, he wondered if he would see Alicia at any point during the day. She was a resident of the Valley and worked on the other resident farm not too far from here. But, she wasn’t just another resident but also someone who he fancied quite a bit. The thought seemed to cause him to tug on his shirt collar a bit, was he perhaps a bit flustered? No, no, of course not it must have been the heat getting to him. He knew not to let the early hour fool him because here in Forget-Me-Not-Valley they had some hot days. Once, he seemed to relax again the young man stepped outside. Jack inhaled deep and took in the morning air before going off to begin his morning chores.

Anna would exit her bedroom and step into the hall, it was obvious that she’d just woken up what with her ruffled hair and still donning her sleep clothing. But, it was still early and there was no immediate rush to get dressed because there was still the matter of eating and seeing what exactly was on the agenda for today. She couldn’t simply rush off to work without knowing what was expected of her. Upon, reaching the bottom floor of her home the young woman was greeted by her cat who earned a pat on the head before she entered the kitchen. With a flick of the switch light flooded the once dimly lighted room, the thought of what to have for breakfast arose in the back of her mind while also searching for her mother’s list. Every morning her mother would leave for her a list of tasks or errands that needed be dealt with on that particular day. A familiar meow caught her attention and once more was she greeted with a certain black cat who had not only leapt upon the counter but also proceeded to paw at a slip of paper. Ah, there it was. The girl shook her head fondly before dragging her body over to where the feline resided. “Thank you Selina” she murmured before picking her up and setting her on the ground.
She unfolded the piece of neatly folded paper before reading the content inside. It would seem they were in need of some items in particular which were if not low in numbers was already gone. Anna would only scan the piece of paper briefly but told herself that she would read through it more thoroughly after she’d eaten and washed up because right now she was still half-asleep. At least today appeared as though it would be a pleasant day and aside from being tired she felt alright which was always a good sign.
