Hey all! I noticed that this little bit didn't have any posts/threads so I thought, hey, might as well post here! If this is the wrong place to post this... my apologies! I'm still new to this website. So getting down to the reason why I'm doing this.
When you guys create characters be it for original roleplays or specific fandoms, what are your thoughts? When you're making them, do you think, "Okay so I'm going to just do the very basics," or is it this incredibly long process? Or something in between? I'm asking because let's face it, some people but the very minimal effort into making an OC (name, age, basic looks, a few words for personality, etc.) while others take months coming up with their OC before they even think about roleplaying with them. I've gotten the basics and I've gotten OCs that could have a book made out of the information I have been given.
Some people use only words to describe their OC and some people use a million GIFs. Some people don't even type out an OC and just have the character in their mind and want to develop them throughout the RP. When you actually think about it, there are a million and one ways that people go about roleplaying with their own character, so I want to know what everyone's thought processes are for creating a character and if you're one of the ones who take months to create a very detailed OC or someone who just has a basic idea in mind and doesn't fill anything out.
What are you pet peeves? What do you love seeing in someone else's OC? What websites do you post your OCs on or do you just send them through e-mail?
Tell me! I'm really curious!
