Lay it on me.
The best thing I ever put in my face was this terrine I made in school. Lemon cream, tangy and bright, was layer with crunchy chocolate streusal and a rich dark chocolate cream. It was topped with a perfect canelle of Earl Grey ice cream.
Holy crap, my mouth is watering.
On the savory side, there was this burger at this restaurant in Grand Marais, MN. It was perfect.
I had been camping for a week, and this burger.
Guys.
Soft bun, juicy patty. Ketchup and mayo had been carefully smeared into eddies, verdant leafy lettuce stacked on top. The tomato tasted like a tomato, flavorful and tender. I still think about this burger, more than ten years later.
